Tom Maret, Organ and Tissue Donor

Tom was a wonderful person who always made you smile. He loved to write poetry, and we are so thankful he left us with books full of his writings. He also loved music and to be outdoors. Tom was so very much loved by his family, because he had such a big heart and a great sense of humor. He could make anyone laugh and would always tell a joke or a funny story, which made everyone around him feel comfortable.

A son, a brother, a brother-in-law, a cousin, and a friend to many, Thomas Joseph Maret died at age 24. A huge hole was left in our hearts when he passed in a car accident in 2006.  The day we received the news was shocking and still hard for us to grasp, but we are comforted in knowing that Tom’s life continued to hold special meaning, as he was able to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.  This has helped many families across America, whose loved ones were waiting for the gift of life. Knowing that Tom has helped others in such a tremendous way has helped us heal.

He will never be forgotten and will always be a hero to us and to all the people his gift of life has touched. We love you Tom!
